What is the age group for youth wrestling?

Beginners of all ages are welcome! We focus on building targeted skills that are appropriate for each age group.

Is wrestling right for my child?

“You may never achieve the highest level of competitive wrestling but you will absolutely be a champion in life, through wrestling.” -B.F.

What style of wrestling do you teach?

During the regular season we will focus on Folk Style wrestling, followed by Freestyle and Greco.

What is your coaching philosophy?

We work with each child from a strengths-based individualized approach, focusing on technical mastery, physical conditioning, mental toughness, teamwork/ sportsmanship, and positive reinforcement toward achieving goals.

What are the benefits of wrestling?

Physical benefits: wrestling can improve strength, flexibility, agility, and cardiovascular health. Mental benefits: wrestling can improve discipline, focus, determination, and self-confidence. Social benefits: wrestling often involves teamwork and camaraderie, which can help children develop social skills. Character development: wrestling can teach valuable lessons about perseverance, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Are wrestling shoes and headgear required?

Yes. Wrestling shoes are required while training on the mat to help with traction and support to prevent slips and falls. Headgears are encouraged to protect the head and ears from accidental blows, however remain optional.

What does my membership include?

Membership is month-to-month, with no required contract. Discounts are available for multiple family members. Membership fees include all wrestling classes, open mats, and parent engagement sessions.

Do you have free trial classes?

Yes! Young wrestlers may have time on the mat on a trial basis to determine their level of engagement before membership sign-up.

What is a parent engagement session?

The monthly parent engagement session is a time for our wrestling community to gather on the mat, reflect on the journeys of our young wrestlers, and allow parents an opportunity to provide valuable feedback to the coaches.
